Someone has asked....

I'm at a crossroads - I've got this solid corporate management role, but my gut's telling me it's time for something different. How do I make the call on whether to switch careers? Looking for practical ways to figure out which of my skills could work elsewhere and if making the jump is actually smart or if I'm just daydreaming. 

The critical first step here is to figure out what specifically isn’t feeling right to you. “Switching careers” could look like a million different things, so getting sharp on what you want to ditch in your current situation and what you want to gain in your new one is the best place to start. Asking these two questions will help build some guardrails around your decision making so that you’re not aimlessly jumping to something new.
